Experience
Start your atlas and agafay day tour with pickup in Marrakesh at 9:00 AM. Your first stop is the Atlas Mountains. Visit a traditional Berber market on the way and an Argan oil cooperative. From Marrakesh, you’ll arrive at Imlil. From there, you’ll head to the highest and largest village in Imlil Valley, Armed. Either choose to walk to Armed, or you go by camel. See the waterfalls, as well as the hamlets of Ait Mizan, Targa, and Imoula.
To add some more glamor to your journey, your tour guide will stop at Tamatert, so that you can enjoy the amazing view of ancient irrigation fields that are surrounded by cherry and walnut trees. From Tamatert, pass through the Ait Souka village on the way to the next stop at Kik Plateau (offers a stunning view of the beautiful lake of Lalla Takerkoust and the authentic Berber villages implanted in this majestic mountainous landscape..). At Ait Souka, you’ll meet a berber family, and you’ll be welcomed with a nice guest meal in their home.
Your journey will also take you from the Kik Plateau to the edge of Lalla Takerkoust Lake. Take a tea break and see the gigantic dam that supplies Marrakesh with all its energy. Quad biking or jet skiing can also be locally arranged if you enjoy adrenaline-pumping activities. The last stop before you return to Marrakech is the Agafay Desert. Through the stone desert, oasis, barren light brown plateaus, high hills, and Bedouin villages, you’ll enjoy the beautiful sunset as your journey wraps up.
