Embark on a three-day journey through the High Atlas Mountains and the Sahara Desert with a private driver. Visit world heritage sites, movie sets, and one of the most beautiful canyons in the world. Ride a camel through the sand dunes and watch the sunrise from a Berber encampment.
On the first day, your driver will pick you up after breakfast from your accommodation in Marrakech. Travel over the High Atlas Mountains to Tizi n’Tichka pass. Pass by Berber villages and homes set into the hillsides as you make your way to Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah.
Walk across the riverbed and explore this amazing kasbah. Still home to a few families and used as a set for Game of Thrones, Ait Ben Haddou is a great living example of kasbah architecture.
Head to Ouarzazate to see another famous kasbah, along with Atlas Studios, where many modern movies have been filmed. Enjoy dinner and spend the night in Dades Valley at a luxury hotel with a pool and beautiful interior design.
After breakfast the next day, pass through the deep south of Morocco where Berber life has remained virtually unchanged for centuries. Go through Dades Gorge and on to Todgha Gorge for a hike along the riverbed.
Cross the Roses Valley and Tinghir through Tinjedad on the way to Merzouga. Head off the main roads and into the desert to meet your camel. After some refreshing mint tea, amble into the dunes on your camel. Watch the sunset from the camp’s nearest dune and then settle in for a night of great food and fireside drum music. Share stories of your Moroccan adventure with other travelers and make memories that will last a lifetime.
On the third day, the nomads will wake you up at dawn so you can watch the sunrise – the perfect way to start a day. Your camels will be waiting nearby to get you back to your vehicle and then you will set off for your return journey back to Marrakech.
